Chase Dowling’s recruiting story is taking shape around more than his impressive height. Now at Governor’s Academy, the tight end is showing encouraging progress in how he uses his length, hands and alignment versatility to contribute offensively.

His 2025 evaluation established the foundation: a tall receiving target with a substantial catch radius and the ability to work both near the offensive line and split outside. SNE’s evaluation of his first three games of 2026 shows a player becoming more comfortable handling those different responsibilities.

Dowling’s releases and route movement appear cleaner and more purposeful. From attached, wing, slot and flexed alignments, he presents a sizable throwing window through the middle of the field. His long stride helps him cover ground, while his ability to extend beyond his frame gives quarterbacks room to place the football away from defenders. Those qualities are particularly valuable in traffic and near the end zone.

There are also encouraging examples of Dowling working through contact after the catch and engaging defenders in the run game. Continued strength development, improved blocking leverage and sharper initial acceleration will help him build on that progress.

His reported 4.021 GPA adds another positive dimension to his recruiting profile.

For college coaches tracking young New England tight ends, Dowling’s combination of length, receiving versatility and year-to-year improvement makes him a prospect worth following now.
