**Player Evaluation Report: Travis Bowen**
**Class:** 2029
**Position:** Offensive Lineman (OL)
**Height:** 6’4.25”
**Weight:** 275 lbs
**School:** Worcester Academy, MA
**Season:** 2025
**Player Measurables & Athletic Data:**
Travis Bowen, standing at 6’4.25″ and weighing 275 lbs, possesses an imposing frame ideal for offensive line play. His size allows him to effectively engage defenders while maintaining balance and leverage.
**Strengths:**
Bowen’s physicality and technical skills stand out, enabling him to succeed in one-on-one drills and competitive situations. He employs excellent pad level and consistently maintains great balance, rarely overextending or leaning into blocks. His ability to engage quickly with defenders highlights his premium trait of hand usage, which he uses independently and effectively. Bowen has a mean streak, finishing blocks with authority and showcasing his drive through opponents. His agility enables him to handle edge responsibilities, and during his highlights, he demonstrated a keen ability to execute powerful pancake blocks.
In pass protection, his kick step is quick, and he excels at mirroring rushers. His technical proficiency helps him win competitive reps, even against agile defenders. Regarded as a Top 5 Performer at the Prep Redzone Stockup Showcase in February 2026, Bowen’s ability to thrive in high-pressure situations reflects his potential for collegiate success.
**Weaknesses:**
Despite his strengths, Bowen exhibits a need for improvement in his first step quickness and overall speed, particularly in his 10-yard split. He occasionally struggles against speed rushers who can bend the corner effectively, which may be tested at the collegiate level. This aspect of his game requires focused attention, as a slow redirect can lead to challenges in faster-paced environments. As a freshman, he has ample time to address and enhance this issue.
**Training Suggestions:**
To maximize his potential, it’s vital that Bowen continue skill training with an offensive line specialist. Working with a speed specialist during the off-season is highly recommended. Incorporating focused weight-room training will enhance his explosiveness and foot speed. Early combine testing is recommended to identify specific weaknesses, enabling a tailored offseason training approach.
**Current Head Coach “Jeremy Bandy” Comments:**
Travis spent his first season with us last year as a freshman and from day one was our starting Left Tackle. He is one of the best young offensive linemen I’ve ever been around. He has great bend and athletic ability. He also has a physicality you don’t usually find in guys his age. He loves the game and is eager to learn. He wants to be coached, and I can see him being one of the top offensive linemen in the country over the next couple of years. Travis works hard and is dedicated to being the best player he can be.
**Areas of Improvement:**
1. **First step quickness:** Focus on drills that enhance explosive starts.
2. **10-yard split transition:** Work on acceleration techniques to improve initial speed.
3. **Footwork in space:** Devote time to agility drills that sharpen lateral movement against edge rushers.
**Technical Proficiency:**
Bowen exhibits a strong technical foundation, but refinement in specific areas will help elevate his game. A focus on balance, hand placement, and foot speed will improve his consistency and overall performance on the field.
**College Projection Level:**
Given Bowen’s physical attributes, combined with his technical proficiency and competitive nature, he projects well as an NCAA Division I FCS or DIv II prospect, particularly in run-heavy offensive systems. Continued development and added speed will further enhance his eligibility for higher-tier collegiate football programs.
*Conclusion:**
Travis Bowen stands out as a formidable offensive lineman with a promising future. His combination of size, aggression, and technical prowess positions him as a player to watch closely. With focused training on speed and agility, Bowen has the potential to excel at the collegiate level and beyond. Coaches and scouts looking for a player who can contribute in a run-heavy scheme should keep a close eye on this rising star.
