Massachusetts Show Day: “Buckingham Browne & Nichols” Standouts, Eye Test, Skill Notes.

SNE was present at every New England Showday event throughout the circuit tour, which began on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Connecticut and wrapped up on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Massachusetts. Over 150 college coaches from different states visited the area to evaluate emerging high school football talent for possible recruitment into their programs. In this report, I will highlight several players from Buckingham Browne & Nichols in Massachusetts that I knew and was able to observe in person, as well as others who impressed me during the live evaluation event.

Owen DeSalvo (6’0″, 190 lbs) was one of the most impressive athletes on the field. DeSalvo consistently flashed elite quick feet, explosive speed burst, and shiftiness that allowed him to change directions rapidly while maintaining balance and vision. His ability to accelerate in tight spaces and create
separation stood out during drills and 1-on-1s.DeSalvo’s combination of size, speed, and agility gives him legitimate multi-positional appeal at the next level. A name to watch closely this cycle. Owen earned verbal offers after the event from Dartmouth, Georgetown, and ECU who had coaches in attendance.

Andrew Knapp (6’2″, 220 lbs) was among the clearest risers of the day. The athletic prospect flashed a quick first step off the line, showing excellent fluidity through change-of-direction drills. His acceleration was noticeable in both short-area bursts and when opening up down the field. Knapp played with a physical presence, finishing routes strong and showing natural power at the catch point. His combination of size, movement skills, and competitiveness should make him a priority target for regional programs. Strong overall showing at the showcase.

Christian Flores (5’10”, 190 lbs) stole the session at defensive back. Flores displayed excellent top-end speed, fluid hips in change-of-direction drills, and exceptionally quick feet. His ball skills were evident throughout coverage work, consistently breaking on throws with natural instincts and reliable hands. Flores’ combination of size, athleticism, and coverage ability made him one of the clearest risers of the day. Strong showing that should generate increased regional interest heading into the season.

Xzavier Chafin stood out as one of the top performers of the day. The powerful, well-built prospect showcased a strong, compact base and explosive power at the point of attack. Versatile enough to align inside or on the edge, Chafin consistently won with leverage, heavy hands, and polished technique. His natural strength, combined with reliable hands in pass-rush and run-stop situations, highlighted his high-upside potential at the next level. Chafin’s complete skill set and physicality made him a clear standout, further cementing his status among New England’s top defensive line prospects. Xzavier earned verbal offers after the event from Lehigh and East Coast Univ who had coaches in attendance.

Colton Fischer was among the clearest risers of the day. Possessing good size and a fluid athletic profile, Fischer tested exceptionally well with a strong base, quick feet, and excellent range. His physical hands, active reach, and consistent hand usage stood out in one-on-ones, consistently controlling engagements at the line. Fischer projects as a reliable, high-floor prospect with immediate positional versatility. Several other top pre-event names held their own, but Fischer’s combination of tools and competitive demeanor made him one of the event’s most impressive performers. Strong showing overall for New England talent.
